  • Illinois Report Card

The Illinois State Board of Education annually releases school report cards that show how each school, each district and the state is performing on a wide range of educational goals. The 2018 report card information is expected to be posted on Wednesday, Oct. 31, on the state’s website at www.illinoisreportcard.com. District 54 will also make it available on our website at http://sd54.org/schoolreportcards.

The illinoisreportcard.com website contains results from the PARCC assessment, as well as information about student and teacher demographics, enrollment, district-level financial information. The report card also includes results from the 5Essentials survey, which was given to students in grades 4 through 8, certified staff and parents last year.

If you do not have access to the Internet or prefer to receive a hard copy, you may call the school at 847.357.5333. If you want copies of the report cards from more than one of District 54’s schools, please call the District 54 Community Relations Department at (847) 357-5027

    Emergency Response

The safety of all Campanelli students is a top priority for us.  Each year we undergo practice scenarios that allow our staff and students to simulate a crisis situation.  These practices include evacuating from the school building and buses, taking shelter during a weather related crisis, and responding to an emergency situation in the school building. Please see the attached letter for more information. Orange Frog Family Reading Guide

Many of you received your special edition of the Orange Frog Family Reading Guide at our Curriculum Night event.  The Orange Frog parable is based on the work of Shawn Achor and his book The Happiness Advantage.  This book has helped our district embed the principles of positive psychology and happiness with staff and students, and we are so excited to have you join us in our journey.  Each family received one copy of the reading guide from your oldest child’s classroom.  Those of you with a child in junior high will actually receive your reading guide there.  If you have not yet received your family copy of the reading guide, please reach out to our main office at 847-357-5300 and we will send one home with your child.

    54 Promise

The 54 Promise is a multi-year strategic plan to guide District 54’s core work of ensuring whole-child student success.  Through the efforts of the Strategic Planning Committee, consisting of teachers, administrators, parents and community members, this document was created to provide clarity around the key district goals and operating priorities that will drive our system ahead in the years to come. We will highlight this as well as other exciting items on Curriculum Night.

Speaking of whole-child student success, the initial lessons embedded within our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum are focused on establishing a positive culture and climate in the classroom. There is a great way to connect home and school through Home-School Connections . We are truly supporting the whole child through these SEL lessons and the teaching practices staff have included across the day.  This work will also be highlighted during our upcoming Curriculum Night.
