At Campanelli, we are committed to helping students grow as responsible individuals who demonstrate self-discipline and make positive choices. We believe every child can learn and grow through guidance, consistency, and support. To ensure that our school remains a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all, we use a consistent school-wide approach to behavior expectations and consequences.

Behavior that disrupts learning or infringes on the rights of others will be addressed with progressive consequences that are clearly communicated and fairly applied throughout the school day; including during arrival/dismissal, specials, acceleration periods, lunch, and recess.

Progressive Consequences and Supports:

  • First Infraction: Verbal warning from a staff member to remind student of the expected behavior
  • Second Infraction: Classroom-issued consequence, reteaching of expected behavior, and possible phone call home
  • Third Infraction: Second level classroom consequence, reteach and reflection, and required phone call home
  • Fourth Infraction: All of the above, plus support from the office

Response to Severe Clause Behaviors:

In cases of unsafe or highly disruptive behavior, students will be immediately referred to the office. Parents/guardians will be contacted directly by an administrator. Examples of behaviors that fall under the Severe Clause include: fighting, insubordination; serious verbal abuse or use of profanity or obscenity; acts that jeopardize the health, safety, and welfare of another; repeated and willful behavior that constitutes disregard for the rules and regulations of the school; and chronic behaviors involving classroom disruptions or inappropriate language.

Our ultimate goal is to teach and reinforce positive behavior so that every student can thrive in a learning environment that is safe, supportive, and engaging. If you have any questions about our progressive discipline system, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We value your partnership and support.
