Alissa Wells will be teaching algebra to some of our Campi students. Here is a little about her:
I am entering my 14th year in District 54. I have spent 12 years teaching math at Mead Junior High and two years supporting new educators as a district instructional mentor, where I support our new teachers in the district.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my kids, horseback riding, going for long walks, and unwinding every night with my favorite show, Friends.
I am looking forward to being at Campi as Campi has such a homey feel, and I am so excited to be a part of such a great building! Above all, I feel so lucky to help our students be the best versions of themselves. Thank you for giving me the honor of being a part of their story!

Our 2nd grade Chinese Immersion students collaborated to play ninja addition bump on Friday! #BeCampi

How creative! A student in Ms. Waz's class made a word search, and their class got to solve it during morning work! What a fun way to start their Friday! #BeCampi

Our first graders enjoyed the sunshine while practicing adding labels to their pictures and using those labels to turn their ideas into complete sentences. They are growing as writers every day! ✏️ #BeCampi

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Umlauf to the Campi community! She is a graduate of Illinois State University, and brings 24 years of experience in education to our school.
Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her two daughters (19 and 13), and their dog. In her free time, she loves reading, knitting, exercising, and watching her kids play sports.
She enjoys a little bit of everything when it comes to books, movies, and TV shows, and she especially loves listening to country music!
A quote that inspires her is, “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill.
As she begins this new school year, she is especially looking forward to getting to know the Campi community. We are so happy to have her join our Campi family!

Mrs. Menias and Ms. Ostermann are enjoying ice cream at Sprinkles while helping to support our amazing @CampanelliPTA! #BeCampi

Challenging our first graders with some high level number writing today! Thanks Mrs. Bonvillain for finding this activity to stretch our brains in math today! #BeCampi

Nothing but sunshine, smiles, and lots of ice cream! ☀️🍦 Join the Campi PTA for a sweet afternoon at our Ice Cream Fundraiser at Sprinkles! Bring your appetite, grab a scoop (or two!), and mention that you’re representing Campanelli school! #BeCampi

Today during SEL, our 6th grade Chinese Immersion students used chalk to write positive messages of encouragement and belonging for all Campi students to enjoy. #belong #believe #become #BeCampi

5th grade authors in Mrs. Buckner's class discussed WHAT we write and WHY we write today! #BeCampi

We are excited to welcome Graziella Fragale to our Campi community! Graziella is one of our 3rd/4th grade Chinese Immersion teachers. Read below to learn a little more about her:
I attended Illinois State University to get my degree in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in ESL. I was a student teacher in a district in Prospect Heights in 5th grade.
I love spending time with my family and friends even if we are not doing anything crazy! I love watching football and college basketball! Some of my favorite tv shows are Greys Anatomy and The summer I Turned Pretty. I love all types of country music; it helps me relax and refocus my brain.
Some things I am looking forward to this year are getting to know my students, learning even more about their culture and having fun! I am excited for the year!
We are excited to see all that this year has in store for Graziella and her students! Welcome to the team, Graziella—we're so glad you're here! #BeCampi

Our Accelerated 6th Grade Math students are discovering the different types of transformations by describing the “dance moves” of figures on cards!
Before even learning the formal vocabulary, students were already identifying rotations, reflections, and translations based on how the figures moved.
What a fun way to build mathematical understanding; experience the concept first, then put a name to it
#BeCampi

Our 5th and 6th grade Magnet students kicked off our new Microbiome science unit with a hands-on card sort! Students worked together to organize a variety of microscopic and non-microscopic objects by size, making observations, comparing objects, and thinking critically about just how BIG—or incredibly TINY—the world around us can be. 🌎🔬#BeCampi

First graders in Mrs. Schaefer's class are learning how to choose “good fit” books, books that are just right for them, and building their reading stamina along the way! 💪📖
Keep reading, first graders! Your reading muscles are getting stronger every day! 🌟📚 #BeCampi

Our staff decorated their own "BE CAMPI" banners to share a bit about who they are and what makes our school family so special. Each student is currently working on their own banner, which will be displayed in each classroom. We are looking forward to a great school year as We Belong, We Believe, and together, We Become! 💙🧡#BeCampi

We are excited to see our Campi families at Back to School Night on Thursday, August 13 from 5:00-6:30.
Please enter the building through your child’s grade level entrance found on the arrival and dismissal map. This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with drop off and pick up locations before your child’s first day. If you are unable to make it on August 13, you can send your child with their supplies on their first day of school. If you have more than one child at Campanelli, there will be plenty of time to stop by multiple classrooms to drop off supplies and enjoy the evening’s festivities.
Then, join the PTA on the back field for a FREE dinner of pizza and chips plus water and Sno Cones. Become a member of the PTA and spin the wheel for a prize, order your spiritwear, take a photo at the photobooth and check out the Campi Clubs table! Thank you to our Campanelli PTA for providing dinner and sno cones!

The Campi staff had a great day at the annual D54 Symposium! We enjoyed the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate our teaching and teaming practices together! #BeCampi

Congratulations to our amazing 6th graders! We are so proud of all you have accomplished during your elementary school journey. As you head off to junior high, we wish you confidence, success, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences along the way.
