Dear Campanelli community,
We couldn’t believe all of the snow to kick off a spook-tacular week at Campanelli! It must have been all of the Elsa characters with their magical wintery powers. Thanks again to our incredible PTA for hosting the virtual pumpkin decorating contest and virtual Halloween parade. It was so much fun to see all of the creative and scary pumpkins in the Campanelli patch. We had fun celebrating this week with you all! We wish everyone a fun and safe weekend ahead.
Our 1st and 2nd grade students celebrated Halloween with spooky science experiments, a guided drawing and a festive read aloud!
Virtual Turkey Trot
We are so excited for this year’s virtual Turkey Trot!  Check out the kickoff video from Mr. Cahoj (Collins PE teacher).  The Trot will be November 1st-8th and students can share on the Padlet.  We are looking forward to coming together as a team, district and community for this fun virtual event. Check out the Virtual Turkey Trot website for more details: https://sites.google.com/sd54.org/d54turkeytrot/home

A Message for Remote Learning Families
Families that have chosen to remain fully remote at this time will have an opportunity to pick up 2nd trimester materials. We will wrap up material pick up next Wednesday. Please be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teacher. If you have multiple children that attend Campanelli, you can arrange to pick up all materials on the same day if that is easiest for you. Please reach out to your classroom teachers to make these arrangements. If you miss material pick up, you can come to Campanelli any day between 8-4. Give us a call at 847-357-5333 when you arrive and we will deliver your materials curbside.

A Message for Hybrid Learning Families
If your child is attending Campanelli for on-campus hybrid learning, thank you for remembering to complete the self-screener before 8:00 a.m. on attendance days. Please see the District 54 Exclusion Chart on our website at sd54.org/reopeningd54 for more details on when to keep your child home. We thank everyone that has chosen to stay home out of an abundance of caution to keep our students, staff and community safe. We welcome all children to continue to participate remotely if symptoms allow them to do so.
As a reminder, all student drop off and pick up should be via the path to Campanelli off Winchester Lane. Cars will not be allowed to enter or exit the parking lot when busses are present. If you enter the lot before it is officially closed, please do not leave until all busses have cleared. Additionally, please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. Even as the temperatures continue to cool, students will be going outside for recess and breaks.

Opt-In for Text Messaging
On occasion, we will send text alerts and reminders. If you would like to receive a text message from Campanelli and District 54, you can sign up by texting the word YES to the number 68453. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to the same number. Make sure you are texting from a phone number that we have on file in District 54.
