17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development

A few months ago, a small group of eager students reached out to me inquiring about raising awareness for animals displaced during natural disasters. As a part of our growing attention to the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. I thought this was an amazing opportunity to guide the group and address the goal of “Life on Land”. We created the “Earth and Animal Team”. These students would like to help the Chicagoland Dog Rescue.  The team has worked hard during their lunch and recess for 4 weeks collaborating with each other, communicating with the director of Chicagoland Dog Rescue, creating bracelets to sell, and critically thinking about how to logistically manage this project school-wide. The price of the bracelets will range from $.25 – $1.00 and students can purchase them during their lunch period. Thank you for supporting our students in their authentic effort to give back. It has been a wonderful experience working so closely with these students and I am proud of them for initiating this project.
