Campanelli PTA 2017-2018 Reflection Program – Within Reach Launches
This week is National Arts in Education Week. A program designed to promote the idea that arts are an essential part of a complete education, no matter if it happens in the home, school, or community. Students of all ages—from kindergarten to college – benefit from artistic learning, innovative thinking, and creativity. Essentially, it is a way to recognize this impact and share the message with friends, family, and communities.
Reflections is the National PTA arts program that asks children to get creative at all local PTA levels. Students are invited to create works of art in any of six different arts categories, reflecting upon a different theme each year. The six arts categories are dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts collaborating with the annual theme. The theme for the 2017-2018 school year is “Within Reach.”
Students can create as many projects as they like, in as many arts categories as they like. Projects can be submitted to the Campanelli Library by Friday, October 20.
From our local PTA, projects advance through a judging system through council, district, region, state and national levels of the program. We have had wonderful participation over the last few years with many of our students recognized for moving to the regional and state levels. More importantly, we saw many students who were inspired by the arts and demonstrated creativity and confidence in their entries!
