Magnet
The Magnet Program in District 54 aims to Ensure Student Success by expanding and deepening their learning.
Students from throughout the district are invited from grades three through six into the magnet program, which is housed at Campanelli Elementary School. Currently, there is one 3rd & 4th grade multi-age class, and three 5th and 6th grade multi-age classes.
The students qualify for the Magnet Program based on their test results in a variety of assessments, including the fall, winter and spring scores of the MAP test (Measurement of Academic Progress). The top 1% of the district qualify for this program.
The students continue in the program through junior high, as they attend the Magnet Program at Mead Jr. High School.
The curriculum used in the magnet program is on a 4 year rotation. The concepts and content taught in the district in grades 3 through 6 is reorganized to create a more thematic approach. The link below shows the current 4 year cycle.
