Tonight Campanelli sponsored its’ annual Science Fair. We had over 60 scientists helping to to create 40 different projects. I am always amazed at the talent and passion that our students have toward science. Our scientists demonstrated that they truly understood the experiments that they completed. Thank you to Mrs. Schaefer and Mrs. Imboden for organizing this wonderful event.
In celebration of Taiwanese American Heritage Week today some of our students participated in a special event. Campanelli was fortunate to have a delegation of cultural artists and masters from Taiwan here to share their talents and gifts with our students. The students learned a little about traditional weaving, ornament making, old fashioned toys, origami, and dough figurines. All and all the children who attended this event had a wonderful time learning a little more about the Chinese culture.
We want to give a special thank you to the McDonalds on Schaumburg and Barrington Roads. Through their generosity, Campanelli has received a $250 donation to support student activities here at Campanelli.

Today Campanelli students participated in a special 50th anniversary assembly. Highlights from today’s assembly include showing the students the items which are being placed into a new time capsule to be opened 20 years from now as well as students demonstrating dances from each of Campanelli’s decades. We ended our assembly with the whole school dancing the Cupid Shuffle.
I would like to thank our 50th Anniversary planning committee. We have had a wonderful year celebrating our special year.
Tonight our Early Childhood families came back to school for a special literacy night. They enjoyed fun activities in the gymnasium and a special bedtime snack! A fun time was had by all.
What could make eating ice cream better? Reading a book at the same time of course!
Tonight we held our annual Celebrate Reading and Writing with our PTA Ice Cream Social. Both events were a huge success filling the school with parents and children excited about the accomplishment of the children. It is always amazing to read the very creative stories that our young authors write.
I would like to thank the teachers and our parent volunteers that made this a great night for the students and their families.

~The ice cream social will take place in the gym from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
~Celebrate Reading and Writing will take place in the hallways from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
~Our Chinese Book Fair will run from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and will be in the hallway near the LRC.
Our PTA Ice Cream Social and Celebrate Reading and Writing will be taking place here at Campanelli this Wednesday. Please make sure that you make Campanelli a part of your activities on the 18th.
The Campanelli Library and China Sprout have partnered together to offer a Chinese Book Fair during Celebrate Reading & Writing this Wednesday evening.
China Sprout has sent a nice sampling of books for new readers that you may be interested in purchasing . Payment may be made by cash or check payable to Campanelli School only.

Students and their families enjoyed an evening of art, music and dancing. Mrs. Mondul, Ms. Holton and Ms. Woodle prepared a night for families that included dance performances, rock painting and a chorus concert. Fun was had by all!
Stories, music performances, hamburgers, oh my! That is what the night of Wednesday, April 4th was filled with. Campanelli’s annual
“Burgers and Books” event took place at Barnes and Noble Bookstore and Fuddrucker’s Restaurant. All the money that was raised during this event is being put towards the PBIS program at Campanelli. The money will be put towards purchasing incentives, rewards, and prizes for our students, as well as organizing exciting assemblies for the whole school.
What is PBIS? PBIS is “Positive Behavior in Schools”. It is a school-wide proactive systematic approach that has been found to improve the behavior outcomes of students in every grade. PBIS encourages the students to be responsible for their behavior, following these expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Make Right Choices.
The events of the night were incredible! There were music performances from the Campanelli Orchestra and the Campanelli Singing Club (1st and 2nd graders). Mrs. Taucher and Mrs. Schaefer read a mystery story titled Miss Nelson is Missing. Mrs. Leverso and a few 3rd and 4th graders read Very Important Books. Dr. Bhatia presented an entertaining story called Song and Dance Man. To end the night, we had a special visitor read with Dr. Lester. Pvt. Adam Pfeiffer, who just finished training to become a Marine, read the story H is for Honor with Dr. Lester. There was an incredible turnout, with lots of families that attended.
We want to thank all of the staff, parents and students that supported this event. You made it a huge success!
There was a commotion in the ocean last night (Wednesday, March 22nd) at Addams Junior High School.
Our first and second grade students performed their musical, Commotion in the Ocean, last night for packed house. This musical was filled with song, dance and even a little rap. It was clear to the audience that Campanelli students have many talents!
In the gymnasium we also had our Campanelli art show. The gym walls were decorated with original artwork from the first and second graders. The gymnasium looked spectacular.
I would like to congratulate the first and second grade students, Miss Woodle, and Miss Holton. Last night was truly amazing!
